   Song of Songs 2: 10-13

My lover said to me, ‘Rise up, my beloved, my fair one, and come away. For the winter is passed, and the rain is over and gone. The flowers are springing up, and the time of singing birds has come, even the cooing of turtledoves. The fig trees are budding, and the grapevines are in blossom. How delicious they smell! Yes, spring is here! Arise my beloved, my fair one, and come away.’

It has been a year of mixed emotions as the public Dove Fellowships for Women closed over the motu.

But the Lord is good. He wastes nothing.

The 40+ years of fellowships has prepared us for the next chapter of Dove, the transition into Parish based groups –Dovecotes for Women.

We currently have 7 registered ‘’Dovecotes for Women’:

  • St Marys Northcote Auckland
  • St Columbas Frankton Hamilton
  • Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Hamilton
  • St Peter Parishs Cambridge
  • St Mary Immaculate Tauranga
  • St Mary of the Cross McKillop Rotorua
  • Mercy Parish Dunedin

There are another 6 Parishes actively discerning to start a Dovecote.

Click the ‘Dovecotes’ tab above to learn more.

We are excited to be looking forward to 2026 moving in the power of the Holy Spirit discerning the will of God and trusting faithfully in the way forward.

May your Christmas be mightily blessed with whanau and friends in the joy of the Christmas spirit.

‘O Come Let Us Adore Him, Christ the Lord.’

Our Values

Dove welcomes women of any age, background and culture to join together, to grow closer to Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

“Where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.”

Matthew 18:20

Every action in Dove is scripture based. We give priority to knowing, believing and living the Word of God.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

Psalm 119:105

We share the baptism of the Holy Spirit as widely as possible. We pray for one another with the laying on of hands and using the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

1 Cor 12:27

Every woman in Dove is called to have a servant heart, reaching out to each other, family, Church members and the wider community.

“…I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”

John 13:14-15

Dove operates under the authority of the Catholic Bishops of New Zealand, in close association with Charis. We adhere to the spirit of our written guidelines

“…each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him…”

1 Cor 7:17

Whenever we make new plans or decisions in Dove we ask God what he thinks first. We do this through a process of group discernment.

“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Matthew 6:33

We use a unique form of prayer in which we sing songs of praise together, consciously praying the words of each song, until we feel the presence of God, and worship Him as the Spirit leads us.

“..His song is
upon my lips, a
prayer to the
God of my life”

Psalm 42: 8

Sharing Our Stories

When God does wonderful things for us it is good to share our experiences. These stories may encourage you to seek and expect God to move in your life too.

"I recently travelled by road to two Dove events in different parts of the country, on two consecutive weekends, clocking up over 2200kms. Usually I enjoy driving long distances, but for some unknown reason, I was suffering considerable pain in my back and legs during these two journeys..."
"The last few years have been difficult and very stressful for me. I lost my beloved mother on the 30 April 2020 in South Africa. And because of Covid, I was unable to be with her at that time which was heart breaking. Since then my husband and I had to make 2 big moves in the following 2 years which has taken its toll..."
"I have been doing a lot of walking throughout the month of March. It started as a challenge to walk as a fundraiser organised through the Himalayan Trust to raise money for the Nepalese children in the remote Himalayas. However, as is often the case, the benefits of this enforced walking, and time to think, reflect and pray has..."
