Not Containing God – The Power of My Love
This meeting drew us into a ‘circle’ to learn how we can come closer to the Heart of Jesus through Intercession. Elaine Brooks was our speaker, our leader for the evening. She explained the steps of the Principle of Effective Intercession. Explaining to us about being pure in heart, asking forgiveness and being submissive, setting ourselves apart and putting on God’s whole armour. This was backed up with relevant scriptures that confirmed the understanding of God’s will for intercession.
Elaine proceeded to lead us prayerfully through the steps as a body of praying women, we were able to write our own ‘prayer mat’ and at the right time we all got up and placed them on the altar mat. All of us entered into the Praise Litany as it was spoken out and as we welcomed the Holy Spirit through song we were lead into worship. I felt we responded with genuine worship in gentleness and at one part I felt it was like angels worshipping God. In the stillness of waiting on God, with expectant hearts, we were invited to write down what we felt Our Lord was saying to each of us. These were shared out, some claimed and some confirmed. Some women also received pictures.
This truly was new. It really showed each of us that in our own prayer times we can follow these steps, even write our own prayer mat, place it before Jesus and He will answer.
Letting ourselves sit quietly in the stillness, waiting….
Maree and her team put together an amazing Prayer Booklet for each to take home, the blue coloured cover had a different picture of Jesus on and we were able to choose the one that spoke to our heart.
Aquinas College Chapel has an amazing statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with out stretched arms. I believe Jesus was present and the ‘circle’ was enfolded in His arms.
I really praise God for Maree and her team together with Elaine as they lead us to understanding The Power of My Love through Prayer and Intercession.
