February

Love was the fruit of the Spirit for the February meeting and the focus was drawn from the 2010 scripture Galatians 5 v 16 – 26 and the founding scripture for the Ch Ch Dove banner Revelation 22: 1-2: “And the angel showed me a pure river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, coursing down the center of the main street.  On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month.  The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations.”

The banner was central and flowing fabric led the eye to the bowl of fruit and flowers symbolizing the continuation of the river of life flowing down to bear the fruits of the Spirit bringing healing life. The focus continued on the floor using candles, fabric and the words: ‘love generously’.

Roger and Rita Peterson spoke together from the 2010 scripture on the fruit of love, clarifying that the fruits of the Spirit were different from the actual gifts. They referred to 1John 4:16 on God’s people being a ‘clanging gong’ without love; that God is love and we are called to abide in his love and his love brings healing. They referred to 1Corinthians 13 reflecting on how the word ‘love’ is abused. They talked about what love is and isn’t, sharing actual incidents, both funny and amazing, and the importance of love being present. Their interaction with each other and their marriage bond blessed the women in many ways – it witnessed to what they said and led to personal ministry.

Everyone present was given a small card as a gift for Valentine’s Day: ‘Father’s Love Letter - an intimate message from God to you’ beautifully presented on soft cream card.

The tables were set up café style and the atmosphere was exciting, relaxed and friendly. Roger and Rita touch the ladies through their teaching, words of knowledge and deep ministry.
