Our meeting on the 8th March 2010 started with newness and freshness of what is to come.
Tauranga has a new President, Maree Kowalewski.
Maree introduced herself and her team and led us in a very reflective way.
Our theme for the night – Not Containing God, Do you limit Him?
First- there were Jewels - Jewels from Heaven, Colours of the rainbow.
God so often takes each one of us back to our child like ways, where we are fill of excitement and anticipation of what we will receive!
We were given a piece of light wire and encouraged to pick out three Jewels for January, February and March, we didn’t know what we were getting but Our God did and it was a whow! to see the beauty around us and how the jewels went together. To get a fill set of 12 jewels we need to come monthly!
With background music playing Maree lead us through a series of questions and gave time for us to reflect in our own personal way with Jesus.
Do you limit God by going through the motions? Do you really know God?
Do you limit God by doubting that He truly approves of you and loves you?
Do you limit God by saying I’m not qualified I can’t possibly do that?
Do you limit God by wanting a quick fix or do you wait for God’s timing?
These were a few questions that we pondered and I know myself that there were several (if not all) that touched my spirit and I have ‘work’ to do.
The focus for the evening was a thimble, a cup and a bucket. Maree encouraged us again to think of the ocean as a faith container. God’s gifts to us but how much do we carry?
There is much more for us to have, we need to stretch ourselves and increase the size of our faith containers.
Praise and worship followed as we praised our God, worshipped and came into the stillness and peacefulness of sitting with Jesus, drawing near to Him.
A night full of encouragement and promises of how we need to open wide our hearts to God not allowing any containment.
